“Ashes of the Forest” (Cinzas da Floresta) follows street artist Mundano as he travels through a burning Brazil, collecting ashes from raging wildfires to create the paint used in his latest artwork, which made waves around the world and in news outlets. Through his journey across the country amidst a global pandemic, Mundano highlights the importance of volunteer firefighting brigades in Brazil, environmental reform policies, and that of activist art in combating the uncontrollable forest fires in the Amazon.
